1,000 Books on the Internet, And They Never Met Their Client Simon & Schuster, one of the world's largest publishing companies, was looking for an organization that could convert it's nearly 1,000 volume set of previously published children's books for use on the internet. Info-Data completed a complex process of scanning some elements of each book such as the cover and illustrations while keying others like tables and text. Digital photography was required to replicate the "pop-ups." Each publication had a different set of requirements, but each had to be done in a way that enabled it to move from platform to platform with relative, and exact, ease. At its successful conclusion, the project was married together in Acrobat Adobe PDF files tied to previously developed specifications. Throughout the project, Simon & Schuster and Info-Data communicated electronically and by phone. From start to finish, no one from either company met anyone from the other.
